So what is SR2 and what does it mean compared to SR1 ratings?
To obtain SR1 ratings recognised by the LPCB security gates need to be able to withstand opportunistic attempts for forced entry’s which use minimal tools. These tools are ones listed within category A within the LPS 1175 testers manual. Minimal tools within this category can include spanners, screwdrivers and knifes. Over a 5-minute period the forced entry attack time can be up toa minute,
The new SR2 accreditation has meant that the Xentry 3 TP has withstood more vigorous testing with the stimulation of a more vigorous attack. The security gate in this instance to pass SR2 accreditation the Xentry 3 TP has to withstand an attack for 3 minutes against tools or weapons listed in the LPS 1175 testing manual category B, These can include weapons and tools such as hand drills, junior hacksaws and claw hammers.
